Global Warming: Is It Real?

Imagine that you're on the side of a river. Water slowly flowing down. You look around you, there are lush trees that stand tall, giving you shelter from the heat. You take a deep breath.....

Calming, isn't it?

Now, imagine that being destroyed....

Wouldn't you be fucked up?

That is what happening right now and the cause is global warming and yes ladies and gentlemen,
this is real and its happening in front of our very own eyes.

What's global warming? It's basically is when the earth's atmosphere can't release the excess heat that is absorbed by the earth. This happens because the atmosphere is thicken by greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide. As the earth can't release the excess heat, the earth temperature gets higher and that's global warming.

Where did these gases come from? These gases mainly come from motor vehicles and also factories. There are also other sources like smog that came out form unclean sources of energy like oil and coal power plants.

The effects of global warming is real, ladies and gentlemen, as seen in this picture below:

The top picture is Mount Kilimanjaro in 1993 and the bottom picture is the same mountain in 2000. Look how much the of the snow and ice has melted in just 7 years. According to a professor form the Ohio State University, the Kilimanjaro Mountain will be snow-less in by the year 2020. This mountain has been called the shining mountain, but it may not shine no more because of global warming.

These are pictures of Lake Chad on 1973, 1987, 1997 and 2001. As you can clearly see, the lake has significantly dried up over the past years and this is caused by the increase of temperature which is caused by, you guessed it, global warming.

What will happen if this problem is not resolved? The biggest effect is that the death toll from global warming will dramatically increase in 25 years; from 150,000 to 300,000 deaths per year. A million species of animals will be extinct by the year 2050. By that time, the Arctic Ocean will be ice free. When the global warming problem is not answered, in less than 50 years, greenland ant the Antarctic will melt and this will increase the sea level by 20 feet, submerging large parts of countries like the Netherlands, China and the US.

Ladies and gentlemen, you can stop this problem from escalating even further. Recycle and opt for clean energy like solar energy. Use energy efficient appliances like energy saving light bulbs and electric appliances that have the energy star logo. If you want to buy a car, don't just look at its performance, but also look at its carbon emission and also its fuel economy. Write to your government and ask them to address this problem in the parliament. If they don't listen, then you yourself go for a seat in the parliament and bring this matter to the forefront.

YOU CAN STOP THIS. YOU CAN CHANGE THE FATE OF THE EARTH. IF YOU DON'T SAVE THIS PLANET, THEN WHO WILL.
